Cabinet painting began with taping off the counters and insides of the cabinets. Next primer was added:
At this point the final coat of green has been put on and next week they will add the black glazing which will change the color substantially from what you see here:

This piece gets attached to the end of the island, by the stove top, after the floor is installed:
Plaster washers were installed and then drywall compound was used to cover everything.
The final look of the fireplace is still aways off but the cement blocks have finally been covered. We hope to get some of the tile/mantel work done on the fireplace this weekend:
