Progress as of 12/24

Progress was being made on several fronts. This week we had the carpenter, tilemen and cabinet men working on the house.

The carpenter is back putting up more trim, more doors and the wood wainscot in the upper bath.

His new workshop is outside since the kitchen cabines took over his old spot:

The wainscot in the upper bath is now all in - next for that room is painting. We are planning a brick red for the upper walls, cream for the wainscot and white for the door and window trim.

Cabinets:

A few minor changes happened in the kitchen. Shown here is the mirror and beadboard that are to go above the bench at the far right of the kitchen next to the door.

We also got the pantry chalkboard installed.

Most of the cabinet work was downstairs in the media room where bar cabinetry was installed:

Guest Bath Tile:

The guest bath is tile now almost all in. The main parts are in and grouted. But some small pieces surrounding the cabinet can not be installed until later. Its a white marble floor with black boarder, the walls have a half height subway tile wainscot with black sill and the show is all subway tiles. It took over 2 weeks for them to do but looks great.

Stairs:

They have started to lay the tile on the stairs. Here is a picture looking down the stairs from the top and looking over the railing at the other half. They only have the treads tiled and still need to fill in parts of the landing. It should be all tiled next week and then the first week of January they should be finishing up with the media room. Once the tile is in we should be set to paint the down stairs.
