We passed final, on the 3rd try, Thursday May 5th 2005 - 56 weeks into the project. We have a small list of additional items that should be completed one day next week and then the construction is complete. Of course the house is not complete - we still have lots of decorating to do, lack lots of window covering, and have a few minor things to work on but that will come with time. Below is a gallery of the various rooms. Some are totally unpacked others are not. I will update this again once the remaining rooms are unpacked...

Living Room

The living room is all unpacked - we just don't have anything to put in it! At some point in the near future we will buy furniture for it.

The fireplace has a herring bone brick pattern installed by my father (Thanks Dad!). The brick mixed in with the black tile are from the houses original fireplace.

Pam's Office

We still have a bit more work to do in my office. Including moving the rest of the furniture out of the bedroom and sorting through months worth of paperwork that we couldn't file because the file cabinet was inaccessible since January.

Dinning Room

Our new dinning room table arrived on Monday. It has two leaves that when in make it entirely fill the dinning room and allow for 10-12 people. The flowers are from my garden... At some point we'll add some more furniture of some sort by the window which along with window coverings will complete the room.

Kitchen

I think I have completely unpacked the kitchen (although I keep finding more boxes so I may be wrong). The upper cabinets will have opaque art glass in them at some point in the near future.

In this picture the island has oil on it so it looks shiny but it really isn't.

While we don't have harsh winters, I'm fond of the Northeastern "mud room" so we have our own mini version of it with this bench and hooks at the end of the kitchen right by the doors.

A few more views of the kitchen:

The window area really turned out like we wanted with towers on either side and a large bridget (10" window sill) between them. The faucet isn't in due to some installation problems but will hopefully be in early next week.

The pantry is awesome - Todd the carpendure delayed building this but he did a great job once he got to it... It will be a very frequently used aspect of the kitchen and worth every inch of space it takes.

Alan's Office

The pieces to Alan's office are scattered about the room and will soon be assembled after which the room will look much better. But at least you can see how the paint looks with the brown and aqua colors.

Hall

The hall just needs some pictures hung on it and its done. But notice we still haven't finished the curio in our bedroom - that's one of the "small" projects we have left. Also "Gossomer" the tree will soon be moved to its proper location - once we figure out where that is....

Laundry Room

Hidden behind the lower doors are our very nice front loading washer and dryer...

Up Bath

My soaking tub - very relaxing. This room really feels like part of a 100 year old house with the old looking fixtures and the wood details.

Stairs

Alan (with a small bit of my help) designed the railing detail. It looks even nicer now that it is stained.

The oak with the tile goes very nicely. At some point we will get a stained glass piece to hang over part of the window and block the view of the neighbors house.

Down Bath

Media Room

We still need to put in the glass for the cabinets of the bar but this is nearly done.

Guest Room

A bit more unpacking is needed in the guest room...

Outside

The grates over the window wells look great and are very unobtrusive - much better than railing would have been.

We built the deck in 2.5 days it was one of the easier things we did

We are not putting railing up but will finish of the handrail for the steps in the near future.

We'll paint in a year or two.

Garden

We just planted the garden last week but the tomatoes had been in large pots for a while so they are a head of everything else.
